Women’s History Month: Celebrate the Women You Know in Technology!

This Women’s History month, we took an inside look at women in tech. From the founders to the new hires, we spoke to the women on our team about how they work for Falling Colors, and how Falling Colors works for them.

We celebrate all the women of Falling Colors as valued and prominent women in tech and how each plays a major and critical role within the company. From financial controllers to developers and all roles in between, our team works as a collective unit to improve our platforms and services. We are proud of our representation of tech in Santa Fe and in the world.

The combination of Falling Color’s core values and the company culture is a big part of why we came on board and why we choose to stay. At Falling Colors, we have a focus on creating change and having a direct, positive impact on the community. One member of the team said, “I thought this company was too good to be true.” Falling Colors supports the mission to foster and support women in technology, in our own company, and in our community at large. Questions, investigation, and growth are expected and encouraged within our team. As our company thrives, so do we. And as we thrive, so does our company.

Though obstacles still exist for women pursuing careers in technology, i.e., gender discrimination, pay disparities, and unequal work environments, at Falling Colors we continually strive for a fairer and more equitable workplace. Because some career paths still feel like they are male-dominated, it is incumbent upon mentors and role-models, both male and female, to encourage and push all of us to pursue goals and to open paths to success. And we - all women in tech - will persevere through mental fatigue (pandemic exhaustion included) and moments of uncertainty to show our strength, our resiliency, and our competencies.

If you are a woman interested in tech, our advice to you is to find a company that is supportive of your growth and learning, where questions are encouraged, and answers can always be found.  Women built the tech industry and women can change the world by getting back into it. Let’s do it! Falling Colors is excited to pave the way for the next generation of women in tech both in New Mexico and beyond.
